Letter to the League

Dear Players and families,

Welcome back to another season of Penn Valley Little League baseball! We have been hard at work trying to improve the experience for all of our players and their families and we are excited to share those updates with you!

Website

We are proud to introduce a new and improved website. The web address remains www.pennvalleyllb.com, with a new look and feel!! We hope you find this new site easier to navigate. For questions or more information contact [email protected].

Registration

Registration will open on Monday, November 25th and with that, we are thrilled to introduce some valuable updates to our registration process. Along with our new and improved website, we will now offer mobile first registration! Our mobile first registration was designed for mobile devices and built for users who are on the go! In addition, we are thrilled to announce document upload capabilities for document verification requirements. Before you begin the registration process, gather up your required residency documents and upload directly to our site. No more in-person document verification! For a list of the proof of residency requirements, please click here.

This year medical release forms will be available on our website and will need to be signed and uploaded to your account. In addition, please be sure to review our Zero Tolerance Policy, also available on our website. Adherence to this policy is expected and will be enforced this season, so please read carefully. For questions or more information contact [email protected]

Draft

Now that our enrollment numbers can support it, we will be introducing a draft process for creating teams for the Minors and Majors divisions. This is consistent with how other local leagues manage team creation for these divisions. Players and Head Coaches for each division will attend player evaluations in order to be prepared for Draft Day.

The draft process will be used for each Division, in the following order: Majors first, then AAA, and finally AA and will be conducted in accordance with Little League rules and regulations. Please keep in mind that due to the draft process, player and coaching requests will no longer be at the arrangement of the Player Agent. Little League rules allow for Player option arrangements to be made for specific circumstances including drafting sons/daughters of Managers or Coaches as well as handling siblings. Those rules will be communicated to Managers and Coaches prior to the draft. Any other player or coach requests will be taken up by a draft pick.

Volunteer

Volunteer requirements for the 2025 spring season consist of 1 shift per family for Farm players and 2 shifts per family for players in AA division and above. While the majority of the volunteer availability is in the snack shack, we also have other volunteer opportunities such as field clean up day, where volunteer requirements can be met. Volunteers will sign up for their shifts via sign up genius. The volunteer deposit is one $50 check for farm players and (2) $75 checks per family for AA players and above. However, please note, WE DO NOT WANT YOUR MONEY! Please volunteer instead. This is our biggest need. We will maintain a running list of volunteer opportunities on our new website. As always, managing a team, being one of the officially registered coaches on a team, being the team parent or volunteering as a board member are exempt from the above hour requirements (because they will put in a lot more than 6 hours.) For questions or more information please contact [email protected].

GameChanger

With the introduction of our new website, we will have an integration with GameChanger! For the AA division and above, we encourage the team mom’s (or whoever is handling keeping score) to utilize GameChanger so that scores and standings can be interactively updated on our website. Once teams are created, each team will be found on GameChanger when you search. This team should also be prepopulated with your players and coaching staff. This is a fun and exciting new feature that we hope everyone utilizes!

Umpires

During the Spring 2025 season, Managers/Head coaches of teams in divisions AA and up will be assigned to a minimum of two (2) games outside of their division to umpire. Managers and Head Coaches will also be required to attend the mandatory umpire training held in March. Sign up Genius will be utilized for umpire sign ups during the season. For questions or more information please contact [email protected].

We are excited to get the season under way! A rough schedule of what you can expect leading up to the start of the season is below:

· Regular Registration ends on 1/17/25.
